In the realm of special education, specifically catering to children with autism, fostering a love for reading requires a tailored and nuanced approach. Our teachers at PPKI Tuissyen embark on this journey by employing various strategies that cater to the unique needs of these exceptional learners.

At the outset, behavioral value understanding becomes paramount. Recognizing that children with autism often respond well to visual cues, teachers initiate activities that encourage attentive listening, such as using picture stories and posing individualized questions.

Moving forward, the reading process takes a multi-sensory turn. The teacher reads aloud the passage, ensuring that every word is visually represented on the whiteboard in vibrant marker colors. This technique not only aids in word recognition but also provides a comprehensive visual context.

Adding another layer of comprehension, teachers provide verbal explanations alongside partial visualizations of the passage. Open-ended questions are strategically incorporated to stimulate critical thinking and encourage students to express their thoughts.

In the quest for engagement, the classroom transforms into an interactive arena. Context games are introduced, allowing students to actively participate in the learning process. The ultimate goal is to instill a growth mindset in our students, ensuring they not only comprehend the material but also develop a sense of accomplishment akin to their mainstream peers.
